Essential Job Functions:
The Aircraft Repair Engineer/ Specialist assists QuESTs customers in the development, improvement and implementation of conventional and non:conventional aircraft engine component repair processes.
Responsibilities include:
* Supporting the introduction and improvement of component repair processes for aircraft engine run hardware
* Evaluating component repair needs and assessing repair process cost trades for refurbishment of used hardware
* Interfacing with design engineering in accessing the viability of proposed repair solution(s)
* Assisting the customer in initiatives to increase repair process productivity, reduce costs and cycle times, and improve quality
* Designing necessary fixtures/ tooling for new repair applications and for existing process improvements
* Documenting process changes and other customer requested work:related information
* Complying with customer practices and procedures
Secondary Job Functions:

Qualifications
Required:
* Bachelors Degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Metallurgical or Aerospace Engineering.
* Minimum of 7 to 10 years experience working in an aircraft engine related manufacturing, engineering or repair services environment
* Familiarity with aircraft engine component repair processes (e.g. joining, drilling, cleaning, peening, coating, metal addition, inspection,) and their application to advanced materials (metal and non:metal)
* Fundamental understanding in the application of two or more aircraft engine component repair processes to return either metal and/or non:metal components to their original functional requirements
* Experience with complex tooling and/or fixture design
* Experience working with Operations/ Process documents, procedures, and records.
* Working knowledge of GD and T and SPC methods
* Good written and verbal communication skills
* Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software
Note: Candidates without four:year technical degree with relevant work experience will be considered for specialist position.
