Design Responsibilities:
Planning of food manufacturing processes for solid, liquid, and bulk powder operations.
Visit with clients, tour operations, and gather data on operations. These facilities will be a variety of food processing operations, such as meat processing, large central bakeries, dairy and cheese processing, or dry material processing.
Prepare designs, specifications, and drawings for food processing projects.
Develop initial design concepts, layout processing and packaging equipment in a floor plan, perform calculations, prepare P and ID and construction documents using Autocad, obtain owner approvals, and make adjustments to final design.
Follow applicable codes and related standards.
Evaluate existing food processing systems and provide input regarding the upgrade or enhancements necessary to achieve project objectives.
Project Responsibilities:
Communicate with clients to gain knowledge of desired project objectives and needs.
Must be able to absorb information and ideas quickly and accurately.
Present oneself to clients in a professional and polished demeanor.
Foster positive client relationships by listening to and understanding client needs, and effectively communicating project features/benefits, schedule and deliverables.
Work cooperatively with colleagues, leading meetings and actively facilitating progress.
Up to 25 travel required.
Qualifications:
Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or related field.
Desire 5+ years of related work experience.
Proficiency with Autocad (Revit a plus), MS Excel, and MS Word.
Professional Registration a plus.
Knowledge of food plant and process design a plus.
Ability to clearly communicate to clients the features and benefits of a project design concept.
Ability to communicate and work harmoniously with team members.
Adaptable to both leadership and hands:on design roles.
