The innovative 100 distance:learning Master of Health Administration program of the University of Cincinnati is searching for a full:time assistant professor with primary responsibilities in teaching and service and secondary responsibilities in program management
and scholarship. The successful candidate for this position will demonstrate accomplishments or potential in all areas.
Responsibilities of this on:campus, three semester (twelve:month) per year position include:
Teaching:
:Continuing development and implementation of the online MHA degree program and its various curricular components, including direct teaching
:Student mentoring and capstone project facilitation and assessment
:Assisting the Program Director with development of certificate and other new educational programs
Service
:Under the direction of the Program Director, coordinate daily operations of the program including new student orientation student advising
:Participate in the ongoing oversight of MHA program adherence so that policies,procedures and course content are in compliance with the strategic plan of the MHA
:Program, including developing and revising MHA faculty and student policies as required
:Assist Program Director with activities associated with seeking and maintaining CAMHE accreditation.
:Serving on Program, College and/or University committees as needed and appropriate
:Serve as a faculty advisor to the new UC MHA Alumni Association
Scholarship
:Collaborate with the Program Director and other faculty to enhance the scholarship of teaching and learning in distance education in the MHA program.
:Engage in research and scholarship in the candidate's area of expertise as opportunities arise
Minimum qualifications:
:Master's degree in health administration or a related discipline and a minimum of five or more years' experience working in the health care delivery system as a manager, professional, or some combination of these roles, OR an earned doctorate in health administration or a related discipline with evidence of appropriate scholarly experience.
:A record of effective teaching at the graduate level, preferably in distance learning modalities
Preferred qualifications: In addition to the educational and experience requirements, the successful candidate will have experience and/or interest in curriculum development and assessment of student learning, a commitment to student success, and the ability to successfully interact harmoniously with colleagues, staff, and students within a multicultural environment.
The MHA Program: The UC MHA program offers a two:year program designed primarily for working students using an asynchronous distance learning approach and directed by a full:time MHA program faculty member. Faculty for the program are drawn from the College of Allied Health Sciences, the College of Business, and the world of practice. The program enrolled its first students in xxxx and now has 240 matriculating students. In addition to the degree program, four certificates in health care in the areas of administration, finance, operations, and policy and regulation. From its base in the School of Social Work and with its formal partnership with the College of Business, the MHA program has developed a strong collaborative network of faculty. As a member of the College of Allied Health Sciences, the program faculty find opportunities for interdisciplinary service and research with college colleagues in communication sciences and disorders, nutritional sciences, rehabilitation sciences, and other allied health professions as well as with colleagues across the UC Academic Health Center.
