Illumination Works is looking for a Data Architect to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess an aptitude and desire to grow a career as a thought leader and solutions architect within big data. Candidates must possess interpersonal skills in addition to strong oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities:
The Data Architect will work with both internal and external partners to drive value through implementation, solutions architecture, and design of Big Data solutions.
The Architect also outlines best practices and drives high quality deliverables for Illumination Works’ customers.
The appropriate candidate will also drive analytic tooling enablement and capability within the Big Data environment.
Qualifications:
Bachelors or MS Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or comparable academic discipline.
10+ years of software development experience.
Self-Starter with a passion for new technologies.
1+ year of experience in a technical leadership role.
Experience with Apache Cassandra & Solr.
Middleware integration and architecture experience.
Experience designing solutions for multiple large data warehouses with outstanding grasp of cluster, performance optimization, and systems architecture.
Unix/Linux, Python, Perl, Ruby, Scala or other scripting skills.
Knowledge of open-source tools, technologies, platforms, or databases.
RDBMS experience.
Experience deploying solutions using continuous integration a plus.
Possessing 1+ years’ experience architecting Big Data software deployments is a plus.
Active participant in open source communities a plus.
Outstanding problem-solving skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Desire to grow in a career within Big Data.
