The Instrumentation & Electronics Technician is the primary resource for reviewing existing sensor applications for performance and reliability, planning preventive maintenance activities on all electronic controls and components and interfacing with engineering for electronic control system (PLC, sensors, switches, etc.) improvements. This roles responsibilities include evaluating current PLC controls and sensor installations and recommending modifications to improve system performance. This role will operate within the maintenance function and interact with operations and EHS through Safe Work Permit, LOTO and MOC origination.
This role is a member of the maintenance staff and reports directly to the Maintenance Manager. This role has no direct reports. Technical Resource
Support daily production operations
Review and assess daily system status
Troubleshoot, correct and report system abnormalities
Support maintenance I&E techs to perform component maintenance
Support electrical work maintenance planning
Develop electrical equipment job plans
Develop electrical equipment PM & frequencies
Evaluate equipment reliability
Review current gaging system components in each application
Review repair records to determine MTBF and prioritize replacements
Maintenance Team Member
First level responder to equipment troubleshooting & diagnosis
Work with team to prioritize and build detailed schedules
Build documentation to drive standard processes
REQUIRED: B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering or A.A. Degree in Electronics with exceptional experience, (a physical-science degree and relevant work experience could be considered in lieu of the degree requirements). 5-7 years of progressive responsibility in maintenance or manufacturing roles Proven hands on skills that include measuring and improving process performance and leading, instructing, and training others in those improvements. Competency in process design and optimization.RECOMMENDED: Experience with electrical utility systems and troubleshooting Experience with AB and Delta V DCS
