The College of Medicine, Department of Cancer Biology is looking for a Post Doc Fellow. This position will support the University's mission and commitment to excellence and diversity in our students, faculty, staff and all our activities.
Job Summary: Individuals who have recently been awarded a Ph.D., M.D., or M.D./Ph.D., or comparable degree, and whose goals are to acquire additional training and experience in order to enter a career in academia and/or a research center.
Job Duties: Study transcriptional and epigenetic regulation of gene expression in breast cancer. The Zhang laboratory currently focuses on elucidating molecular mechanisms of gene: and tissue: specific transcriptional cofactors (Mol Cell 19:89:100, PNAS (xxxx) 107: xxxx, PNAS (xxxx) 107:xxxx6, JBC (xxxx) 286(20):xxxx6, EMBO J. (xxxx) 30(12):xxxx) in mammary stem cells fate determination and breast cancer by using a combination of biochemical, molecular as well as mouse genetic (conditional knockout and mutant knockin) approaches. We are also currently developing RNA:based nano:therapeutics to target these cofactors to overcome the endocrine and chemo: therapeutic resistance of human breast cancer.
Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D., M.D., or M.D./Ph.D., or comparable degree
Ideal Qualifications: Research experience in biochemistry, molecular or cellular biology. Prior experience with RNA:seq/ChIP:seq analyses or animal studies.
